The ABC’s of Parenting: Attitude

“There's very little difference in people.
But that little difference makes a big difference.
The little difference is attitude.
The BIG DIFFERENCE is whether it is positive or negative.”
W. Clement Stone

During the first year that I was Principal, I learned very quickly that my attitude not only made a difference in my day, but that of the teachers and students at the school. I read this great quote that first year, “When the Principal sneezes, everyone catches a cold.” I’m not sure who said it, but I think it is a great quote and one that works just as well for parents.

“When a parent sneezes, the everyone catch a cold.”

Meaning -- whether you have a positive attitude or negative attitude each day, will make an impact not only on you, but on your entire family. Kids are sensitive and they pick up easily on your attitude.

So – make today a positive attitude day and try not to sneeze.

“A happy person is not a person
in a certain set of circumstances,
but rather a person with a certain set of attitudes.”
Hugh Downs

  1. the role of the positive attitude is huge. I think all my attitudes from percepting life in general to some detils go from my parents or grandparents.
